An examinor poked one of the subject’s toes with a toothpick and let the subject answer which toe was poked. Some participants couldn’t answer correctly. After reviewing Anatomy of foot, we applied basic Shiatsu on dorsal and disital regions and we did the same experiment. The result appeared to be better. There are still less researches on Shiatsu itself compared to other therapies. He thinks it is very important for Shiatsu therapists to work on scientific researches and prove to the world how effective shiatsu can be, as well as to improve shiatsu skills. (Misuzu)
